Aransas Pass/Port Aransas Causeway (San Patricio County)

The Historic Rialto Theatre & the Beautiful Bay!

We began our day at the recently renovated historic Rialto Theater in downtown Aransas Pass.  At the theater we enjoyed presentations by theater owner Jen Jones who told us about the renovation process, by Rialto Theater board president Jim Elder who told us about upcoming art, music and theatrical events to be held at the theater, by Aransas Pass Municipal Development District member Harlan Roberts who told us about the Economic Development of Aransas Pass and by Richard Misenhimer of Alice, a volunteer with the National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg, who told us about the museum’s Oral Histories of World War II Veterans program.

From the theater we traveled to West of Key West restaurant, located on Redfish Bay off the causeway between Aransas Pass and Port Aransas.  Following a wonderful lunch catered by TICA Catering of Aransas Pass, long time Aransas Pass residents and local historians Ralph and Lu Arcemont presented a pictorial history of Aransas Pass.
