Third Coast Squadron CAF Museum (Jim Wells County)

The Third Coast Squadron CAF Museum serves to maintain, in flying condition, an example of every aircraft that flew during World War II. Today the CAF (worldwide) operates a fleet of over 140 aircraft known collectively as the Ghost Squadron.

The Museum has a  PT-17 Kaydet Stearman Trainer which was used  to train Navy pilots at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi during World War II. Veteran pilots are now offering aircraft rides aboard the PT – 17 Stearman.  This is open to the public.  To inquire about experiencing this history click here.

The museum has a collection of World War II and other military items and a hangar full of vintage aircraft.  Between the museum and a possible Stearman ride, this is one of South Texas’ best kept secrets!
